Planting Day

Before Planting

Toni Inspects Her Dog Digging Heaven

Herbs, Potatoes, Bush Tomatoes

Planted Garden
April 15th is officially the planting day for my area of the country. I planted on April 3rd. We had a beautiful weekend and I was anxious to get the plants in the ground.
We filled the garden with 2 yards of garden mix and 1 yard of leaf mold. Toni thought it was the greatest playground in the world. We had to fence her out.
This area contains tomatoes, peppers, okra and beans.

I tilled and planted, waiting for God to give the increase.....

Coming Together

Toni - Garden Assistant
The garden has progressed and the time is almost here to get the plants in the ground. (April 15 per Southern Living Magazine.) We had several plant fatalities on the night of March 28 due to a rogue wind flipping several containers of tomato plants. (Good news for Ace Hardware.)
We now have 3 whiskey barrels for herbs and bush tomatoes.
With great anticipation of planting day.....

The Bhut Jolokia

3 Inch Bhut Jolokia from Greenearth Inc.
It arrived alive and green on 12-26-2009

Bhut Jolokia pepper purchased for the seeds.

This type of pepper is reported as the hottest in the world. Some references report that it is three times hotter than a habanero. This pepper is so hot that my fingers burned after planting the seeds in starter pots. My plan is to grow six plants in my backyard garden.

As you may have guessed - I am a pepperhead!...
